Hummingbirds are magical. I put this feeder outside of our dining room window each May and anxiously await the arrival of our hummingbirds. We usually get a little family of three or four that live nearby and visit frequently each day, rain or shine. It’s amazing to watch them and to listen to their distinctive chirp as they happily sip on sugar water. We give each hummingbird a name and chat with them when they visit. This year, the hummingbirds were more comfortable. They would dart around the feeder, checking it out, and once they were ready, would choose a flower. After a few seconds, they would dart to another flower around the feeder. At times, they would hover and look in at us. I was lucky enough to be able to capture the photo below of Bert. He visited on my birthday for the very last time this season.
