It’s that time again! Can you believe it’s the end of November already?
Pretty soon we will be getting ready to say goodbye to 2016 and welcoming in a new year.
Crazy. Time flies when you’re an adult.
Anyway, here is a small collection of the things I have enjoyed slightly more than other things this month. Some are products, some are books, some are things that I created myself.
Without further ado…
Yogi Echinacea Tea
I love Yogi tea and this is one of my favorites! It helps boost your immune system and helps prevent colds. It’s delicious and will warm you up on chilly autumn/winter nights. I love having a cup or two after doing evening yoga. Bonus: each tea bag has an inspirational message or mantra on it. (See Sunday Evening Inspiration)
National Geographic Angry Birds Space by Amy Briggs
“It’s one small step for birds, one giant leap for birdkind…
Blast off with the Angry Birds as they fly through space on an intergalactic rescue mission! Evil space piggies have stolen their eggs and are hiding them somewhere in outer space. To save them, the Angry Birds have teamed up with National Geographic to learn all they can about planets, moons, stars, galaxies, and the mysteries of the universe. Four chapters take the readers deeper and deeper into space—each one packed with Angry Birds, astounding space photography, and fascinating “Astrofacts” and “Space Data” features that surprise and enthrall. Join the birds as they observe robots on Mars, take a spin with the Jupiter’s Great Red Spot, visit where stars are born in galaxies far, far away, and look for life on strange new worlds. This official companion book to the Angry Birds Space game shows the furious fliers everything they’ll need to know on their quest to explore the galaxy and rescue their precious eggs.”
This is such a great book for kids and parents alike! My son read this to me and we learned fun facts about the planets and other space objects. The information is presented in an entertaining way that will have your kids hooked!
mmmmmm pumpkin pie. I was so excited and really looking forward to this delicious dessert all month! I finally had some on Thanksgiving and my family finished the pie by the next day. Yum!
Amazing Cows by Sandra Boynton
“From Sandra Boynton—as it could only come from Boynton—an inventive exuberant jumble of a book for the young reader. Amazing Cows is a picture book, a storybook, a book of fun and games—it’s all those things in one. Plus it even shows you how to find the startling recording of Maurice Ravel’s “Bolero Completely Unraveled for Orchestra and Kazoos” performed by Sandra Boyton & The Highly Irritating Orchestra. (Running time is 17:14, but seems MUCH longer.)
A work of pure obsession, Amazing Cows celebrates cows and offbeat cowness with a miscellany of cow stories, cow poems, cow jokes, and other bovine ephemera. Along the way, expect lively guest appearances by ducks, pigs, and excessive numbers of chickens. There’s a song: “It Had to Be Moo.” A game: “Find the Hidden Cows.” Famous Barnyard Composers (surely you’ve heard of Wolfgang Amadeus Moozart and Johann Sebastian Bockbockbock). Knock-knock jokes, a cow myth, and an Amazing Cow comic-book adventure: “Trouble on Zebblor 7.” Cow fashion. Cow Limericks. How to Speak Cow. Plus so much mooer.
Amazing Cows is full-color, 96 pages long, and packed with the kind of silly fun that young readers adore, especially when they can read it to themselves—and then read it to their parents, and then to their little brothers, and then to the family dog. Or the family cow.”
Another great book for kids and parents alike! This book was full of funny, silly, made up facts, stories, and jokes. This is a must read!
This was a fun little project that I did with my son a few weeks ago. I thought it turned out pretty cute! All you need is a few household items. Click here to learn how to make your own.
My son and I just made this adorable Bumble Christmas Decoration over the weekend. Isn’t it darling? Learn how to make your own here.
Starbucks Holiday Cup and Coffee
I don’t have Starbucks often anymore. (When I was younger, I was a self-proclaimed “Starbucks Snob.” haha! I would go almost everyday and have my friend take a picture of me with my Starbucks coffee.) But two weeks ago, we stopped and I ordered a caramel macchiato – with an extra shot of espresso. They gave me my coffee in this cute holiday cup. (Fun Fact: In all my years going to Starbucks, I have never before had a Starbucks Holiday Cup. So I was pretty excited about it.) So this Starbucks Selfie was a throwback to those fun times. 🙂
And that’s it. What were your favorite things this month? Leave a comment and let me know. 🙂
