Making a Change – Part 1

Hello friends!

Happy Friday! 🙂

I have some exciting news to share with all of you – SassyCatK is getting a makeover!

I’m sure all of you understand the importance, and struggle, of naming your blog (or URL.) It’s one of the first things you have to decide on when you begin, and it can be daunting. If you are like me, and late to the party, you probably had at least 20 ideas, and your very favorite was already taken, or so close to other things that you didn’t dare, for fear of confusion or copyright infringement. You want something cute, something fun, something clever, something that defines who you are and what you want your blog to be. SassyCatK is a pretty great name, but I’ve been wanting to change it for awhile. I really just want something that is authentically me. After a eye opening conversation that I had two weeks ago, I decided to go for it.

It’s taken some consideration, creativity, and thought; and I’ve done a lot of research. Yesterday, I finally had the Eureka! moment and found the perfect name.

Crushed it!

I’m in the process of getting everything prepared and ready. Ideally, I would like to have everything up and running by Sunday, in time for my weekly inspiration post. Pragmatically, everything will be set for February 1.

I want to thank all of you for being with me on this journey. 65 followers and over 500 likes in the past six months doesn’t seem like much, but to me, means everything. I hope that you will continue to join me on my new page, once everything is set up.

I will keep you posted on progress.

In the meantime, have you ever changed your blog name or url? Do you have any advice you’d like to share or something you wish you would have known before you took the plunge? Let me know in the comments. 🙂

Have a great day, friends!

Pick Yourself Up After You Fall : 13 Inspiring Quotes on Failure

Hello friends!

Happy Sunday!

Here we are in the third full week of January. This is about the time when motivation starts to falter.. Life gets hectic. We get busy. The excuses start to run rampant…

Before we know it, it’s February.. March.. April.. we put things off until the following Monday, the next month… so on and so forth..

But it isn’t just about fitness..

In life, things don’t always go as planned.

We stumble. We fall. We fail.

That’s life, right? A part of being human.

It’s okay to get knocked down. But you have to get back up. You have to keep going.

Learn from the mistake. Do better.

Try, try again.

This week, I’ve compiled 13 inspiring quotes on failure. My personal favorites. I hope they inspire you as they’ve inspired me. Return to this post any time you need a little support, a reminder that you are not alone and everything is going to be alright. Get back up, keep moving forward. ❤

“You can’t let your failures define you. You have to let your failures teach you.”
-Barack Obama

“Failure is only the opportunity to begin again, only this time more wisely.”
-Henry Ford

“Failure is not the opposite of success – it’s part of success.”
-Arianna Huffington

“Anyone who has never made a mistake, has never tried anything new.”
-Albert Einstein

“Failure is a great teacher, and if you are open to it, every mistake has a lesson to offer.”

“Failure is a part of the process. You just learn to pick yourself up.”
-Michelle Obama

“You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don’t try to forget the mistakes, but you don’t dwell on it. You don’t let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.”
-Johnny Cash

“Don’t fear failure… in great attempts, it is glorious even to fail.”
-Bruce Lee

“Let me tell you something you already know. This world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are. It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done.”

-Sylvester Stallone, Rocky Balboa

And a little something extra, from the movie Meet The Robinson’s.  Have a wonderful week, friends!

Not Resolutions.

How to Be a Lazy Hairstylist in 7 Ways

How To Get Things Done in 10 Ways

I absolutelyhate doing my hair before work. Hate it. Why waste those precious minutes of beauty rest to get up early and work at the beauty? I embrace my tangled mane! (Ok, not all the time, but about 4 out of 5 days I’m not touching it). I mean, to me, going to work looking all prettied up is nice, but at the same time…why? What’s the point. You know what I mean? Maybe you don’t. But that’s okay. Because you all know how lazy I am when it comes to life, so I’m always looking for socially acceptable short cuts!

So I’ve got a few ‘do’s in my book to whip out in the morning as I’m rushing around like a crazy person. Oh, and disclaimer here: This is a selfie post. Sorry! Love me or hate me 😉

Green in January – Pictures of Resilience.

Snippets from my garden…

It’s January in Ohio. – The middle of winter, normally freezing cold with snow and ice. We have definitely been enjoying the occasional stretch of unseasonably warm temperatures. As a result, my plants are a little confused. Above is the greenery that I planted in August. I am surprised by how big it has gotten and that it is still around.

Below are my treasured cacti. Yes, cacti in Ohio! I was very excited to receive these as a gift. I have one left in my house that I adore. These took off after I planted them back in August. I wasn’t sure how they would do in the winter, it is a trial and error session. However, they are still going…

(Any gardening tips are much appreciated!)
